A look back at our brainstorming day : Dexio 2029
Intro
Today, we’re looking back at a rather special day that took place at Dexio two weeks ago.
The world is moving fast. Very fast. And at Dexio, we prefer to anticipate changes rather than wait for them to catch us off guard.
This day came about following a team discussion about the future of the web developer’s role. With the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, our profession has already changed significantly in recent years, and one thing is certain : it will continue to evolve.
So, rather than waiting to see what the future holds, we’ve chosen to take the initiative.
For one day, we put our projects on hold to look three years into the future and reflect together on a simple question : what might Dexio look like in 2029?
Morning
For this first part of the morning, we had to put ourselves in the shoes of an idealist, while keeping an optimistic outlook, and imagine the best possible scenario for our team. As you can imagine, this was the easiest part. Everyone was able to project themselves and picture, three years on, at the top.
Then, we had to do the reverse exercise and imagine the worst possible scenario for Dexio. Needless to say, the ideas were immediately a little less cheerful.
And then comes the question : how do we avoid getting there? Because, whether we like it or not, things will continue to change. It is up to us to know how to adapt, anticipate changes and make the right decisions at the right time.

We have therefore taken the time, together, to highlight as many realistic courses of action as possible and to identify the developments we need to anticipate. The aim is to make the right decisions today so that we can continue to drive Dexio’s growth and strengthen our position in web development in the age of AI.
Midday
After a busy morning and plenty of brainstorming, it was time to recharge our batteries and clear our heads a bit.
The whole team then headed to a park not far from our offices to share a lovely meal in the shade of the trees. It was a chance to enjoy some delicious food, have a good laugh and spend some time together in the fresh air.
Having recharged our batteries, we went for a post-lunch walk in the woods before heading back to the office.
Afternoon
After taking a moment to collect ourselves and get back into the swing of things, it was already time to move on : to take a step back from the range of services we offer today and imagine them in 2029.
Will they still have a place? Will we need to evolve them, adapt them, rethink them… or, for some, leave them behind?
An opportunity for the whole team to question the status quo, compare perspectives and collectively surface different avenues to imagine what Dexio's services could become.

Time then for a workshop to reflect on marketing and communications.
Starting with the current situation : what are our communication channels? What is our strategy? What works well, what could be improved and what are we still missing?
The objective was first to have an overall view of the current situation, in order to identify the areas where we wanted to go further.
Once this assessment was made, it was time for ideas. Each team member had to propose two concrete ideas and two wishes, even two dreams, about marketing and communications.
After a group discussion, several approaches began to take shape, with a few ideas to be carefully set aside for later.
And that’s how the brainstorming session came to an end. Now, time to relax!
After
It was with great pleasure that the whole team then headed to the nearest bar to enjoy a quick drink and round off a day full of reflections, ideas and emotions.
Conclusion
So, what have we learnt from this workshop?
One thing is certain : artificial intelligence will continue to transform the way we work, and the role of the developer as we know it today will change.
But for us, this doesn’t mean that humans will lose their place. Quite the opposite. Whilst AI enables us to work faster and automate an ever-increasing proportion of production, the value of our profession is also shifting towards what really makes the difference: understanding a need, taking a step back, making the right choices, designing, supporting and ensuring solutions that make sense.
Our role is therefore evolving alongside our tools. It is up to us to continue developing our skills, our ways of working and our expertise to make the most of these new opportunities.
Above all, this day has allowed us to take a step back and reflect, together, on how we want to shape the future.
