Mediascreen
The 'mediascreen' application by MissCamping is a platform for broadcasting content to connected televisions using players (spinetix) for restaurants and cafeterias. Designed and developed by 8bitstudio, it comes in 3 versions, deployed at EPFL, HES-SO Valais-Wallis, and in SV Group restaurants.

Manage your restaurants, broadcast your menus and promotions on your connected TVs.
Beyond the administrative section, which allows for the creation of restaurants and the association of users with various role levels, the platform enables its users to edit the menus offered by the restaurants, set different prices, manage labels (e.g., Nutri-Score), and input corresponding allergens.
Our Contribution
In addition to managing the distribution of menus and promotions, we have implemented an integration for managing Spinetix players connected to screens via various modes (pull-mode or RPC). The pull-mode allows for remote modification of the static display elements and layout of the player (HTML/CSS/JavaScript content). The RPC mode enables the exchange of control signals with the player, including the configuration of on and off timings for the TVs, monitoring the status of the player, and remotely restarting the player.
The streams broadcasted on the Spinetix players are also available via an API in JSON and XML format, allowing a third-party service to manage the display directly on a web application or another medium.
