ULTIMO - Pulse Dashboard

Our Pulse Dashboard has a new online home! With the launch of its dedicated website, we are proud to present the ambition of this technology in a clear, modern and accessible way : to enable the operation of autonomous vehicles in public transport with the same level of service quality as when a driver is on board.

Pulse, developed as part of the European ULTIMO project funded by the European Union and the Swiss Confederation (SERI), is much more than a simple digital tool. It is an essential building block for enabling safe, humane and scalable autonomous mobility.

 

Why Pulse Dashboard?

In a traditional bus or shuttle, the driver does more than just drive the vehicle. They welcome, reassure, monitor, assist passengers and react to any unexpected situation. When the driver is no longer in the autonomous vehicle, all these responsibilities must be fulfilled in other ways.

That is precisely the mission of Pulse Dashboard : to provide remote human supervision in real time, so that each vehicle can operate autonomously while ensuring safety, assistance and quality of service for passengers.

 

Real-time supervision designed for safety

The Pulse Dashboard enables operators to :

• Monitor the status of each shuttle at all times

• Receive instant alerts in the event of an incident (obstacle, passenger fall, emergency stop…)

• Intervene immediately or dispatch a team on site if necessary

• Open a live video chat with passengers to assist or reassure them

• Analyse operational data to improve the service

 

In other words, even without a driver on board, no one is ever truly alone. Pulse provides a remote human presence, available at all times.

Already deployed in the field

Pulse Dashboard is currently being used at several ULTIMO pilot sites, including Oslo, Herford and Geneva. These concrete deployments allow us to test, refine and validate the tool in real environments, at the heart of cities that are shaping the future of mobility today.

Feedback from operational teams and users feeds the ongoing development of the product : a more intuitive interface, enhanced features, and increased adaptability to the needs of public operators.

Empowering public transport is not just about running driverless vehicles. It is about designing a system that inspires confidence, guarantees safety and puts passengers at the centre of the experience.

Pulse Dashboard meets this goal : creating a bridge between autonomous technology and public service, while maintaining (and sometimes even improving) the level of care and support offered to users.

With this new site, we open a window onto this vision and the project’s concrete progress. Pulse is not a concept: it is an operational platform, already in action, contributing to the transformation of urban mobility.
