BenefitMe

BenefitMe is an innovative digital solution born from a partnership between MobileThinking, Loyco, Piguet-Galland, and Deeplink. It aims to give employees total control over their personal data, social benefits, and financial decisions. Designed during an intensive Design Sprint, this web application incorporates simulation tools (taxes, pension, property purchase) and an intelligent chatbot to support users in their life projects. At the same time, it provides HR with a powerful interface to manage employee requests in real-time, all within a secure and intuitive environment.

BenefitMe – in collaboration with Loyco, Piguet-Galland & Deeplink

In July 2019, we welcomed Christophe Barman and Laurent Charbonnier (Loyco), as well as Vincent Arnal and Alain Bisin (Piguet-Galland bank), for a week-long Design Sprint. The objective was to address the question, "How can we give employees control over their data and rights within the company?" The challenge was to clearly communicate, without sacrificing precision, the administrative data (salaries, taxes), insurance information (first and second pillars), and other benefits. After a week of ideation, schematics, and user testing, the prototype of the web application BenefitMe was born.

The challenge was to popularise – without losing any meaning – all the administrative data (salaries, taxes…), insurance (1st and 2nd pillar) and even benefits. After a week of reflection, schematisation, and user testing, the prototype of the Web application BenefitMe was born.

Our Contribution

From a Design Perspective

After being commissioned to lead the Design Sprint, we took charge of the design and development of BenefitMe in partnership with Loyco and Piguet-Galland. The company Deeplink joined us to integrate the artificial intelligence chatbot.

From a Technical Perspective

We developed the frontend for both employees and Human Resources using VueJS. The server, meanwhile, is connected to the HR services of Loyco and serves to bridge the applications. We chose to develop it in Laravel with a new specification compared to our previous projects.

As the queries were complex (a simulation can impact a lot of data), we opted to develop them using the GraphQL language. This not only reduces the number of calls made to the server but is also a more efficient choice specifically for BenefitMe.

What is BenefitMe

BenefitMe is an ecosystem that includes a web application for employees and one for Human Resources. The web application for employees of a company allows them to have quick, simple, and secure access to their HR, personal, and administrative data. In addition to an informative dashboard, they can perform simulations and measure the impact of a financial decision:

  • What happens to my taxes if I reduce my working hours?
  • And if I changed my pension plan, what would be the impact on my provisions?
  • What Benefits does my company offer me?

All of these questions, and many others, can be answered through the application. Moreover, the application incorporates a chatbot equipped with artificial intelligence that guides the user in selecting a life project. Early retirement, purchasing real estate; the robot is capable of compiling the employee's data and proposing solutions to achieve their goals. In the video example below, we see the Chatbot analyse and describe the impact of a property purchase to the user.

Furthermore, certain requests such as reducing working hours or selecting Benefits that require going through HR can be made from the application. Human resources will be able to take these into account from their dashboard and accept or decline the request.

The tool connects to the confederation's tax simulator and thus allows the user to understand in real time the impact of a salary increase, a property purchase, a loan, or deductible expenses.

In the example below, we observe the impact of enrolling a child in nursery on disposable income, but also on taxes at the end of the year.

Additionally, we see that after simulating the purchase of a Tesla, the couple still has disposable income.
